About

For 20 years Rama Knight has built a body of work as a global documentarian of landscapes and cultures, often in periods of dynamic change.

He shoots editorial for leading publications including Conde Nast, Monocle and Times Luxx and has a history of creating arresting covers. He also creates lifestyle narratives for brands in the drinks, communications, automotive and luxury sectors.

His work has taken him from the salt flats of the Atacama desert to the Arctic rim, with subjects including the Tano tribes of Barracoa and poaching wardens in the Hwangi National Park.

His use of colour and symmetry suggest a graphic designer's eye and he frames the (seemingly incidental) moment in an architectural composition.

"Rama adds a richness to real life situations. The way he captures detail and colour gives his work a real warmth. He’s great at telling stories without necessarily having to show facial expressions, he has an ability to convey emotions without always using more obvious portraiture which brings a really interesting aspect to his work”
Jacob Kirk. Senior Freelance art director.

"I've worked with Rama since 2007 on a number of commercial projects and every project has been awesome. Why? ... because he cares! To have someone on your side who can interpret a brief, understand the concept and the best ways to visualise the final product has been invaluable in helping us to portray brands and gives our customers that sense of gravitas and credibility within their marketplace”
